History

The Bridge City High School Strutters Drill Team was formed in 1986 under the direction of Mrs. Leah Johansson. Mrs. Johansson directed the team from 1986 to 1988. The next teacher that led the team was Mrs. Charlotte North who stayed on as director from 1988 until 1995. The winds of change brought new director Lyndell Hodgkinson in 1995 and she remained until 1997. Our assistant director Jane Busby joined the drill team in 1996 and resigned in 2009. All these ladies have added their brand of strength and dedication to this group of young women, but perhaps none as effortlessly as our current director, Mrs. Cathy Riley. Mrs. Riley became the fourth director of the Strutters in 1997 and celebrated her 13th year with the team in May of 2010. She continues to lead the award- winning “Razzle Dazzle Dolls of Half-Time” with grace and tenacity.
